AATCC 147 – Antimicrobial Fabric Test

AATCC 147 is a qualitative antimicrobial test used to detect bacteriostatic activity on fabric and textile materials.

AATCC TM 147 is a qualitative antimicrobial performance test that tests against S. aureus and K. pneumonia

This method is useful for obtaining a rough estimate of activity by the size of the zone of inhibition. AATCC 147 is also used for testing antibacterial, bactericidal, bacteriostatic activity and has been proven effective at providing evidence of antibacterial activity against Gram positive and negative bacteria, S. aureus and K. pneumonia.

This relatively quick and easily executed qualitative method determines antibacterial activity of diffusible antimicrobial agents on treated textile materials. Customers commonly request testing as part of product performance testing, development, and ongoing quality control.

Although this method is a quick and reliable antibacterial test method, AATCC TM 147 is not suitable for samples that encapsulate and prevent the diffusion of the antibacterial agent or contain antibacterial-neutralizing substances.

If looking for a quantitative antimicrobial test method for fabrics and textiles, customers commonly request AATCC TM 100 for testing.
