ISO
International Organization for Standardization
Accepted globally, ISO test standards are often developed from existing protocols or are harmonized versions of commonly accepted test methods. In addition to providing test methods, ISO (International Standards Organization) also certifies facilities and test laboratories, including our laboratory’s ISO 17025 Accreditation.
ISO antimicrobial and biodegradation tests are used for a wide range of materials and finished products. Frequently requested tests include ISO 22196 for Plastics, ISO 22196 for Concrete, ISO 846 and ISO 13629. For biodegradation and composting, options include ISO 14855, ISO 14593, ISO 17556 and ISO 16929.
Choice of Methods
When choosing a method, we recommend following the requirements of the end-customer and applicable regulatory agencies.
For example, although ISO 22196 is a harmonized version of JIS Z 2801, end-customers often have a preference depending on the material. Knowing this before hand can save considerable time and resources.
