ASTM C1338 – Antifungal- Fungal Resistance Test
The ASTM C1338 method is a standard antifungal test for determining fungi resistance of insulation materials and facings.
Insulation and facings products may be susceptible to fungal formation under favorable conditions such as high humidity. ASTM C1338 is intended to evaluate the relative ability of such materials to resist fungal growth.
Test samples are inoculated with a mixed culture of fungal spores via an atomizer, and placed in an incubator for a test period of 28-days. Following the appropriate test interval, samples are evaluated for visual fungal growth.
As a product test laboratory, Situ Biosciences offers a range of antifungal and antibacterial tests for quality control testing, antimicrobial performance, and product development.
Our experienced technical and commercial staff understand challenges that exist and requirements that must be met for industrial and consumer product testing. Our team can assist customers with testing plans, interpreting results, and understanding product performance.
