Certified Reference Material for JIS L 1902 – Antimicrobial Textile Test
This product includes the world’s first Certified Reference Material (CRM) designed for use as a Test Control in performance of the standard JIS L 1902:2015 test method. Each unit consists of a sample set of both Positive (orange) and Negative (white) Test Controls, which are intended to guarantee the highest quality of antimicrobial method performance available and to verify proper ISO 17025 test performance.
CRMs are innovative reference standards developed from decades of antimicrobial testing expertise in the global market and are accredited to the ISO 17034 standard. This accreditation requires the establishment of Certified Values through ISO 17025 accredited method performance.
JIS L 1902 is an antimicrobial product test that is recognized globally for testing antimicrobial additives in textiles, and was originally developed as a Japanese Industrial Standard for products entering the Japanese market.

Certified Values of Available Products
Certified Values for this product are derived through a calculation of the reduction of bacteria on a test sample after an 18-24 hour incubation period – Utilizing the equations described in JIS L 1902:2015.
Positive Test Controls
- Reduction of 99% of bacteria or greater (a.k.a. 2 Log Reduction)
Negative Test Controls
- No reduction of the bacteria
