AOAC 961.02 Germicidal Spray Products as Disinfectants
AOAC 961.02 tests the efficacy of spray disinfectants on contaminated nonporous surfaces.
The AOAC 961.02 is used for testing spray disinfectants to determine their efficacy as disinfectants on contaminated hard nonporous, inanimate environmental surfaces. It is one of the EPA-specified test methods for antimicrobial pesticide registration. This method is especially appropriate for disinfectants that don’t require dilution and are designed to be used with an aerosol or trigger spray.
Organisms that may be tested against for the AOAC 961.02 method:
- Salmonella enterica
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Trichophyton mentactrophytes
For determining the minimum effective concentration of similar products, see AOAC 960.09.
